CHATA Ministry

The Christian Hearts of Art Transforming Africa “CHATA” is a Ministry of compassion under The Divine Mission International (TDMI), a multinational organization of believers whose aim is to reach out to all whose lives, hope, destiny and faith are no longer in existence.

In order to achieve this mission, several projects, programs, activities, strategies, services and plans are established. TDMI’s national headquarters are in Kasangati, 10 KM from Kampala City, the capital of Uganda, East Africa. TDMI is also part of Faith Christian Fellowship Church at the immediate location of its offices.

Therefore, CHATA is about sharing all different talents of art across the African continent with a purpose of fulfilling every artist’s potential as well as presenting the name of Christ to the mass. This is an outreach Ministry that invites, enrolls, registers and receives artists of different talents from USA to Uganda.

This involves in every artist to understand his or her calling and readiness to share talents with other people in Africa. The Ministry works through Churches and Para-Church organizations in staging concerts, workshops, conferences and lessons in different Schools and villages across the Continent. The secondary purpose of this Ministry is to carry out fundraising events for the vulnerable communities like the Internally Displaced Persons, HIV/AIDS orphans, sexually abused children, youths and refugees of any given circumstance.

PROGRAMS UNDER CHATA MINISTRY
TDMI considers the following programs within the Ministry agenda, but not limited to:

  • Evangelism through art to Christ.

  • Art Education for fighting poverty and unemployment amongst youths

  • Art Education for Peace and Freedom

  • Church Development and participation in art

  • Health and safety for un-companied children

  • Promotion and motivation of African artists with greater emphasis to those the in Church

  • Rehabilitation and Healing through art for war victims

  • Identifying both possible short and long-term placements for retired International volunteers who would be feeling their calling to serve in Africa.

These programs are initiated and facilitated by short-term teachers and instructors of art from the US in various Churches, Schools and Internally Displaced People’s camps across the Country of Uganda. They can teach the children painting, music and drama PLUS Gospel. Of course it is an outreach Ministry.

During their time of stay (US missionaries), the art materials are always collected and packaged in bags and sold in the States in order to raise some funds for the children and Churches. Others are sold locally. This is a life changing Ministry that involves in many Churches in Uganda, Africa and USA.
